Theoretical Approach & Philosophies of Counseling:
I believe that counseling is a collaborative process that focuses on the unique, individual qualities of each client. I view counseling from a humanistic perspective which allows the client to guide sessions based on their current needs, create goals and objectives that are best for them individually, and receive unconditional positive regard in a nonjudgmental atmosphere. I often utilize Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy techniques in my work with clients to assist clients in relaxation and staying in the moment. I also utilize Dialectical Behavior Therapy to assist in regulating emotions, as well as Narrative Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy techniques to help clients identify their personal values, address maladaptive cognitions, and rewrite their stories while committing to positive change.

About Me:
Outside of counseling, I enjoy baking yummy treats (especially chocolate chip cookies), spending time in nature by hiking and biking on beautiful trails, playing both board games and video games, and listening to music. I relax by spending time with friends and family (including my cat Rogie), cozying up with a good book, and holding Netflix marathons!
