Theoretical Approach & Philosophies of Counseling:

I believe that developing a safe, empathetic, and collaborative relationship is the most important part of counseling. I support clients in becoming the best versions of themselves and meet them where they are at. When working with clients, I use humanistic, feminist/multicultural, and strengths-based perspectives. The approaches that I use are based on each clients’ unique needs and goals. CBT, DBT, and trauma-focused therapies such as narrative exposure and nervous system regulation techniques are some of the approaches I offer. I believe that counseling is more than just symptom reduction, it’s an empowering space to feel heard and valued, to identify already existing strengths and resources, and to build a life that is focused on wellness, healing, and growth. I specialize in serving the LGBTQIA+ population and utilize affirmative therapy to support LGBTQIA+ clients and their families.

About Me:

Being a counselor is a big part of my identity. I feel privileged to have the opportunity to walk alongside people in their healing and growth journeys. When I am not working, I am spending time in nature, engaging in my own self-care, or spending time with my family, including my dog, Ziti and cat, Timber.
